The Jaguar Womens basketball program has new leadership in Staff Sergeant(ret.) Alonzo Lunsford. Coach Lunsford comes to JCC by way of Fayetteville State University where he served as an assistant coach. Coach Lunsford is no stranger to the hard wood, he played his collegiate basketball at Johnson C. Smith and finished at Southern University. With over 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Lunsford absolutely loves working with all students not just student-athletes. Previous institutions coached include St. Pauls College, St. Augustine University, and Fayetteville State University. Lunsford also served as the Head coach of the Army wheelchair basketball team in the Warrior Games where his teams amassed three gold medals and one silver. Coach Lunsford is no stranger to adversity, as he is a Purple Heart recipient and survivior of the November 5, 2009 Fort Hood shooting.
