Jaguars Back on Track

After beginning the season with a 6-0 record, the Johnston Community College men’s basketball team found themselves in the midst of a three game skid after suffering consecutive road losses to Brunswick Community College, Catawba College, and Methodist University JV team. Albeit a tough hill to climb the young Jaguar team found solace in returning to their home court. With two commanding victories in front of the home crowd, the Jaguars got back into the win column against the JV squads of Methodist University and Mid-Atlantic Christian University.  Lead by freshmen Eric Alvey, who averaged a team high 19 points and Jermaine Vereen who poured in an average of 17 points over the two game stretch, the Jaguars looked to be gearing up for a tough week of basketball as they prepare to host Vance-Granville Community College on Wednesday, December 11th at 7pm and conference foe Central Carolina Community College on Saturday, December 14th at 2pm. The Jaguars play all home games at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatic Center (SRAC) at 600 Booker Dairy Rd. Smithfield, North Carolina. Please come out and support your team...JAGUAR NATION...RISE UP !!!
